EVC Platform

About project

EVC, short for e-Video Cloud, is a video platform I designed as a personal project. Instead of one flat subscription, every creator sets a price per video, and viewers choose to own it, rent it or gift it to someone else. I designed the whole product in Figma, from the landing page to the creator's payout.

Designed and prototyped in Figma across 18 screens and a set of overlays, with hand-drawn characters giving it a warmer feel than most streaming apps. Highlights include a library sorted by how you got each video, gifting built into the player, and a Producer Network where creators follow views, revenue and withdrawals.

Overview

EVC has two sides that share one product. Viewers browse Discovery, preview a video, then buy, rent or gift it, and everything they collect lands in a library split into owned, rented and gifted. Creators move into the Producer Network, where they upload, set a price and follow what each video earns, all the way to a withdrawal.

The Problem

Video platforms tend to offer one deal: creators give their work away and hope ads pay for it, or viewers subscribe to everything just to watch one thing. I wanted a model where each video has its own price, and a product that makes that feel simple on both sides, without a checkout that pulls anyone away from what they came to watch.

Process

Define

Set the model first: pay per video, with three ways to get one: own, rent or gift

Wireframe

Mapped the main screens in low fidelity, from the landing page to the dashboard

Brand

Warm cream and one orange, with hand-drawn characters in place of film posters

Design

18 high-fidelity screens covering discovery, library, player, upload and payouts

Prototype

Wired 500+ interactions: hover states, smart-animate transitions and overlays

Refine

Kept buying, withdrawing and settings in overlays, so nobody loses their place

Learnings

L01

Two audiences need two front doors

L02

Overlays keep people inside the task

L03

Prototypes find gaps stills can hide

Outcomes

EVC stands as a complete, clickable prototype of both sides of the product. Next I'd test the buying flow with real viewers and design the phone version.
